Colour Basics
Warm or Cool, Tints and Shades, Bright or Muted, Neutral, Pastel, Bold, whatever the colour way , combination or application, it can be complimentary. Wear it or live surrounded by it.... colour, glorious colour!
Colour is produced by the action of light. White light passing through a prism splits into bands of colour.... the rainbow formed in the sky when sunlight passes through raindrops.
It is the effect of light which allows us to see colour.
Something appears white because the surface of the object reflects back the light. Similarly an object appears black because the surface absorbs the light.
It is this reflection of light which allows our eyes to see all the beautiful colours of our world.
